MODERN AMERICANA FROM WESTERN NEW YORK
“A captivating blend of folk, blues, ragtime, and roots-rock.” — Obscure Sound
In an age when it’s increasingly difficult to discern what’s real, Singing River stand poised to point the way forward with their sanity—and good taste—intact. With their EP Shoutin’ Good Time, the Western New York sextet reminds us that music requires the human spirit to give it life. This is communal Americana—tradition kept moving, not preserved behind glass.
After recording primarily as a duo for 2024’s Talkin’ Destination Blues, co-founders Mikey James and Anthony Kuhn re-formed the band as a full six-piece ensemble, expanding the palette into a spirited blend of rockabilly, ragtime, Bakersfield twang, Memphis soul, early rhythm & blues, and No Depression-leaning anthems—all anchored by James on the kit, where the count-off initiates the gathering.
In a three-month independent radio campaign without label support, Shoutin’ Good Time generated verified detections across 19 cities in 10 states, with repeat airplay on WART 95.5 (NC), KOWS 92.5 FM (CA), KHUM (CA), and WMVY (MA).
